Background Mrs Uge, Okiemute Jacinta is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Faculty of Arts, University of Delta, Agbor. She was born on 5th of April, 1968 in Ondo town, Ondo state and hails from Evwreni in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. She holds an National Diploma certificate (ND) in Mass Communication from Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi (1985), a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in English language from Edo State University, Ekpoma in 1994, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the University of Benin, Benin in 2011 and a Masters of Arts degree (M.A) in English Language from the University of Benin, Benin City in 2019. She is computer literate and has acquired a Diploma certificate from the Centre for Computer and Management Studies, Port Harcourt. Before joining the services of University of Delta, Agbor on February 8th, 2023 as Assistant Lecturer, she was engaged in the services of Staff Model Secondary School, Agbor, an arm of the defunct College of Education, Agbor an English language Teacher on Master 11 in 2006 from where she rose to the rank of Principal 1, and consequently as Senior Tutor in the university placement on the establishment and conversion of the college of Education, Agbor to the University of Delta, Agbor. She was the immediate past Subject Head (English Language), at the Staff Model Secondary School, Agbor. As English teacher she prepared the students successfully for many essay writing and debating competitions. She also contributed to the school’s winning of the SEPLAT Cup for secondary schools in Delta State in the 1st position, organised by SEPLAT in 2014. She has attended various Seminars/Workshops in English language organised by Longman Publishers and Africana Press Publishers Plc in collaboration with the Delta State Ministry of Education, over the years. She contributed a chapter in the English text titled Effective Writing Skills for Higher Education. Edited by Felix Anene Boyle and Titilayo Shobomehin (2010), Benin City: Justice Jeco Printing and Publishing Global. Mrs. Uge, Okiemute Jacinta is married and has three children.
